HIIT vs LISS: Which Workout Is Right for Your Body?

Two of the most popular cardio methods today are HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) and LISS (Low-Intensity Steady State). Both improve health and fitness, but they challenge the body in very different ways.

Let’s explore the differences and discover which style may suit your body type best.

HIIT consists of short bursts of maximum effort followed by brief recovery periods.

LISS stands for Low-Intensity Steady State cardio. Instead of pushing your body to its limit, you maintain a comfortable pace for an extended period.

HIIT delivers fast, intense calorie burn but demands greater recovery. LISS is gentler, supports endurance, and is easier to sustain. Mesomorphs often thrive with HIIT, ectomorphs benefit from balanced HIIT and LISS, while endomorphs typically excel with regular LISS combined with strength training for long-term fat loss and metabolic health.
